StoneMor Partners L.P. engages in the ownership and operation of
cemeteries in the United States. The partnership's cemetery operations
include sale of cemetery interment rights, consisting of burial lots, lawn
crypts, mausoleum crypts, cremation niches, and perpetual care rights;
and merchandise, which includes burial vaults, caskets, grave markers
and grave marker bases, and memorials, as well as installation of burial
vaults, caskets, and other cemetery merchandise. It sells cemetery
merchandise and services both on a pre-need and at death basis. As of
December 31, 2006, the partnership owned and operated 177
cemeteries and 27 funeral homes in 21 states, primarily in the eastern
United States. It owned 170 of these cemeteries, and operated the
remaining 7 under long-term management agreements with the cemetery
associations that own the cemeteries. StoneMor GP LLC serves as the
general partner of the partnership. The partnership was founded in 1999
and is headquartered in Bristol, Pennsylvania.
