Prudential Financial, Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides various financial products and
services principally in the United States, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. It operates in three
divisions: Insurance, Investment, and International Insurance and Investments. The Insurance
division includes Individual Life, Individual Annuities, and Group Insurance segments. The
Individual Life segment provides individual variable life, term life, universal life, and
non-participating whole life insurance products. The Individual Annuities segment offers individual
variable and fixed annuity products. The Group Insurance segment provides group life, long-term
and short-term group disability, long-term care, and corporate and trust-owned life insurance
products to institutional clients. This segment also sells accidental death and dismemberment, and
other ancillary coverage, as well as provides plan administrative services in connection with its
insurance coverage. The Investment division comprises Asset Management segment that
provides investment management and advisory services, mutual funds, proprietary investments,
and other structured products; Financial Advisory segment, which offers investment services, and
engages in equity sales, trading, and research operations; and Retirement segment that offers
recordkeeping services, plan administration, actuarial advisory services, tailored participant
education and communication services, trustee services, and institutional and retail investment
funds to retirement plan sponsors in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. The
International Insurance and Investments division offers individual life insurance products to the
mass affluent and affluent markets in Japan, Korea, and other foreign countries; and proprietary
and non-proprietary asset management, investment advice, and services to retail and institutional
clients. The company was founded in 1875 and is headquartered in Newark, New Jersey
