Alexander's, Inc., a real estate investment trust (REIT), engages in
leasing, managing, developing, and redeveloping properties in the United
States. The company's properties include the 731 Lexington Avenue
property, a 1,307,000 square foot multi-use building in Manhattan, New
York; the Kings Plaza, a 1,098,000 square feet regional shopping center
in Brooklyn, New York; the Rego Park I property, which consists of
351,000 square foot building in Queens, New York; the Paramus
property, a 30.3 acre land in Paramus, New Jersey; and the Flushing
property comprising 177,000 square foot building in Queens, New York. It
also develops the Rego Park II property, which consists of approximately
6.6 acres of land; and the Rego Park III property, a 3.4 acre land, in
Queens, New York. The company has elected to be taxed as REIT under
the Internal Revenue Code. As a REIT, it would not be subject to federal
income tax purposes, provided that it distributes at least 90% of its REIT
taxable income to its shareholders. The company was founded in 1955
and is based in Paramus, New Jersey.
